Phew.... finally found a good angle and a fitting song for this scene. I wanted to do it as some kind of second part of this pic here: Where My Demons Hide...
But as you can see it took me a little longer than expected. ^,^'
I hope you like it. It's the scene from "Forest of Secrets" where Yellowfang decides to kill Brokenstar so that he cannot continue to hurt, betray and kill those cats she learned to love. It must've been a hard decision to make, since Brokenstar was her own - and only - son. The only thing left that connected her with Raggedstar. But it must be even harder for her as a mother to see her child become so evil and so full of hatred.
Yellowfang's story was one of the worst, anyway. When I read "Bluestar's Prophecy" I was at the verge of tears... but after finnishing "Yellowfang's Secret" I was a sobbing mess. Everybody and everything she once loved turned against her and she suffered so much loss and humiliation, just because she got caught up between her feelings and her destiny. As well as Cinderpelt she got hurt, but she never gave up. She was - like so many cats from the first arc - a great and strong character, grumpy maybe, but loving and caring on the inside. That's why I feel so sorry for her, when she poisoned Brokenstar and put an end to all this. Maybe... just maybe, if she hadn't decided to keep their relationship a secret, Brokenstar would've become a different cat.
..Oh and for those who noticed: I know, Brokenstar looks quite young and in the books he was described to have a flat face just like Yellowfang... But I don't really feel like drawing him with a flat nose and stuff... And he was quite young when he died too. I think it was 4 years or something. In comparison: Firestar was 8 years when he finally died. o.o
